There are Venture Capital Firms that are looking to invest in business ideas, maybe the one in your little Harlem dude mind. This could be your opportunity to find the investors that you need. Alternatively, you just may need a couple of dudes to help you start a business.

You know how it is today, networking is the way to go. Sure you can go to event sites and meet people in person. That is what you are doing now anyway. However, meeting people online is pretty cool too. They can be investors, or you could be an investor looking for an idea dude or dudette. Or let us take a common business scenario. Say you are good at designing websites, but you are looking for a business idea to apply your website knowledge to. You find someone else who has a great idea for marketing computer refurbished units or iPhones or what have you. The two of you get together and before you know it you are in business.

Remember that the general scenario for venture capital firms is that brick-and-mortar stores are out and web marketing is in. Even Barnes & Noble had to market the Kindle reader in order to keep their huge stores relevant. All that brick-and-mortar presence is not going to save them without the Kindle and online deal. They still may be forced to abandon their brick-and-mortar store. Hey, it all gets shipped UPS, and you don't have to try on a book or CD.
